FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

As one of their largest expenditures people typically have a plenty of questions before makingany decisions , below are a few of the more commonplace ones…

Unless you are a properly trained contractor, the majority of roofing jobs shouldn’t be undertaken yourself. Also remember that the majority of manufacturers of products used in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those products unless a certified roofing contractor carries out the work. The other thing to always remember is that working on a roof can be very hazardous, so is it really worth endangering your health for you to save money?

It would be really good if we could give you a straight forward answer to this question! But there actually is no single answer fits all for every question like that. There are plenty of unique products available and each and every one has its own advantages and faults. To determine which is the best roof for you, you should have an expert come and check out your roof and they can make recommendations according to what they observe, the type of roof you have, the environment you live in and, of course, your budget.

It definitely depends upon the kind of roof and exactly what surveys are mandated. Also, keep in mind that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather isn’t good and we can’t work on a number of days then this will definitely add more time to the task. A smaller home may take about a week or so, while much larger industrial projects can be anything from several weeks to a number of months. Just ensure that your roofing contractor keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Considering that your roof is constantly subjected to the outside elements, it means your roof is will deteriorate gradually. The rate at which it deteriorates will depend on a range of factors. Those include; the grade of the original components used as well as the craftsmanship, the level of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is preserved and the design of the roof. Most roofing contractors will estimate around 20 years for a well-built and well-maintained roof, but that can never be guaranteed because of the above factors. Our suggestion is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular checkups to make sure it lasts as long as possible.

You should not ever pressure-wash your roof, as you run the risk of eliminating any covering materials that have been included to give protection from the elements. On top of that, you should steer clear of chlorine-based bleach cleaning products since they could also decrease the life-span of your roof. When you converse with your roof cleaning expert, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will clear away the unpleasant algae and staining without ruining the tile or shingles.

More About Hadley, MA

Hadley (/ˈhædli/ (listen), HAD-lee)[3] is a town in Hampshire County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 5,250 at the 2010 census.[4] It is part of the Springfield, Massachusetts Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area around the Hampshire and Mountain Farms Malls along Route 9 is a major shopping destination for the surrounding communities.

Hadley was first settled in 1659 and was officially incorporated in 1661. The former Norwottuck was renamed for Hadleigh, Suffolk.[5] Its settlers were primarily a discontented group of families from the Puritan colonies of Hartford and Wethersfield, Connecticut, who petitioned to start a new colony up north after some controversy over doctrine in the local church. The settlement was led by John Russell. The first settler inside of Hadley was Nathaniel Dickinson, who surveyed the streets of what is now Hadley, Hatfield, and Amherst. At the time, Hadley encompassed a wide radius of land on both sides of the Connecticut River (but mostly on the eastern shore) including much of what would become known as the Equivalent Lands.[6] In the following century, these were broken off into precincts and eventually the separate towns of Hatfield, Amherst, South Hadley, Granby and Belchertown. The early histories of these towns are, as a result, filed under the history of Hadley.

Ask each contractor to offer you an itemized quote to enable you to see specifically where your cash is certainly going. Ideally, they must send an agent in your property to evaluate the roof face-to-face before offering you a quotation. Like that, the estimate they supply is going to be considerably more accurate.

4. Ensure the clients are trustworthy by reading through reviews off their past clients. Consider checking with groups much like the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to confirm that no major complaints have already been filed against them.

5. Get all things in writing. Don’t just take a contractor at their word. Instead, question them to provide you with a written contract. Make sure both you together with the contractor sign the agreement. Keep a copy on your own in the event any problems or disputes arise. A signed contract reduces the danger of misunderstandings and will provide you with legal protection in the event the contractor fails to follow through on the promises.
