FAQs

Being one of their largest investments people usually have a number of questions prior to makingany decisions , below are a few of the more common ones…

Unless you are a properly trained roofing professional, most roofing work shouldn’t be performed yourself. Also keep in mind that a lot of manufacturers of products utilized in the repair of the roof won’t warranty those products unless a licensed roofing contractor carries out the task. The other thing to keep in mind is that working on a roof could be very dangerous, so is it really worth endangering your health in order to save money?

It would be really good if we were able to give you a straight forward answer to that question! However there really is no single answer that fits all for each question like that. There are so many different products available and each and every one has its own merits and disadvantages. To know which is the right roof for your home, you should have a professional come and check out your roof and they can make recommendations based on what they discover, the type of roof you have, the environment you reside in and, of course, your budget.

It actually depends upon the type of roof you have and exactly what surveys are needed. Also, bear in mind that we’re working outside in the elements, so if the weather is bad and we can’t work on particular days then this will certainly add more time to the task. A small home might take around a week or so, whereas larger industrial jobs might be anything from several weeks to a few months. Just make certain your roofing company keeps you updated and you really should be fine.

Given that your roof is consistently exposed to the weather, this means your roof is will diminish over time. The speed at which it deteriorates will depend upon a number of factors. These include; the quality of the original materials used as well as the workmanship, the amount of abuse it will have to take from the elements, how well the roof is preserved and the style of the roof. Most roofing professionals will quote around 20 years for a well-built and properly maintained roof, but obviously that can never be guaranteed because of the above factors. Our suggestion is to always keep your roof well maintained and get regular inspections to be sure it lasts as long as possible.

You shouldn’t ever pressure-wash your roof, as you run the risk of removing any protective materials that have been added to give cover from the elements. In addition, you should stay away from chlorine-based bleach cleaners as they may also reduce the life of your roof. When you speak with your roof cleaning specialist, tell them to use an EPA-approved algaecide/fungicide to clean your roof. This will remove the unappealing algae and staining without damaging the tile or shingles.

More About Hadley, MA

Hadley (/ˈhædli/ (listen), HAD-lee)[3] is a town in Hampshire County, Massachusetts, United States. The population was 5,250 at the 2010 census.[4] It is part of the Springfield, Massachusetts Metropolitan Statistical Area. The area around the Hampshire and Mountain Farms Malls along Route 9 is a major shopping destination for the surrounding communities.

Hadley was first settled in 1659 and was officially incorporated in 1661. The former Norwottuck was renamed for Hadleigh, Suffolk.[5] Its settlers were primarily a discontented group of families from the Puritan colonies of Hartford and Wethersfield, Connecticut, who petitioned to start a new colony up north after some controversy over doctrine in the local church. The settlement was led by John Russell. The first settler inside of Hadley was Nathaniel Dickinson, who surveyed the streets of what is now Hadley, Hatfield, and Amherst. At the time, Hadley encompassed a wide radius of land on both sides of the Connecticut River (but mostly on the eastern shore) including much of what would become known as the Equivalent Lands.[6] In the following century, these were broken off into precincts and eventually the separate towns of Hatfield, Amherst, South Hadley, Granby and Belchertown. The early histories of these towns are, as a result, filed under the history of Hadley.

Ideally, they need to send a representative to the property to look at your homes roof face-to-face before supplying you with an insurance quote. That way, the estimate they supply will probably be considerably more accurate.

4. Ensure that the company is trustworthy by reading through reviews from their past clients. Consider checking with groups such as the Better Business Bureau (BBB) to confirm that no major complaints happen to be filed against them.

5. Get everything in writing. Don’t simply take a contractor at their word. Instead, inquire further to provide you with a written contract. Make sure both you and the contractor sign the agreement. Keep a copy on your own in the event that any problems or disputes arise.
